Ed is an actor and writer, his first theatre script seeing the light of day at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001. He has since written a number of stage plays, mainly themed around his worrying obsession with the Theatre du Grand-Guignol, but has of late found a lighter touch through his collaboration with Ed Ward on the very English ‘Rum Vintage’ award winning comedies, most recently The Sporran of Reichenbach Moor. Ed’s acting credits include theatre productions of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Julius Caesar & As You Like It, as well as new plays Judy The Righteous and Like Enemies of The State. He has just finished touring with Ira Levin’s classic dark thriller Veronica’s Room, and will shortly appear in the new Netflix series The Crown.
Ed is and actor, writer and keen but awful rugby player – all in that order. He was first on stage at the King's School Worcester in England at the age of 12. His theatre career continued throughout his teens and at his alma mater, Trinity College Dublin, where he performed in several English and French speaking plays. He left the stage and, whilst never forgetting his roots, moved to the screen playing various eclectic characters from posh Sloanes, Russian villains to off-beat and manic characters. Deciding the quickest way to get roles was to write himself into his own scripts he quickly took up pen and paper to co-write a series of “very English” short comedies called The Rum Vintage winning best short comedy noir at the 11th Angel Film Awards Monaco in 2013.
The Rum Vintage recently been condensed into a feature screenplay.
He has just finished a role as an unconventional journalist in John Stewart’s latest film, Rosewater and a similar role in Barbara Eider’s, Thank You for Bombing. He played an archetypal English hippy in the feature film ‘A Facebook Romance’ that won him the award for best supporting male actor here at the Angel Film Awards in 2012.’ He won best black comedy screenplay in 2014 at the Angel Film Awards-Monaco International Film Festival for a Frightfully Stand Up Chap.
Ed’s next lead acting role is for a large HBO production in 13 episodes by producer Edgardo Vasquez which will be filmed in India, Dubai and Puerto Rico. Following this he will play the lead male role ‘Johoner Armstrong’ in the upcoming Si-Fi action film Dominance by Mediascape Production Ltd.

LOGLINE: (Genre: COMEDY)
With a nod to Wodehouse and Conan-Doyle, by way of Blackadder and The Comic Strip, The Sporran of Reichenbach Moor is a darkly comic adventure set in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands.
Stalwart Felix Badger-Burbridge and his ever-game companion Francesca head up to the wild highlands of Scotland for a weekend retreat – a little hiking and a little study of Burbridge family history, in particular the infamous Battle of Reichenbach Moor. Greeted at their isolated guesthouse by landlady Maud and her oddball son Marbree – and his pet raven Non – our heroes’ holiday jaunt takes a peculiar and troubling turn when they meet the guesthouse’s other resident, Professor Mortimor. This cast of quirky characters send Felix and Francesca on a dangerously fantastical adventure, as the true power of the mysterious Sporran of Reichenbach is revealed.
