Debra Mace, President of The Children for Peace ONLUS, began her philanthropy at the age of three when she gave her toys to children less fortunate, much to the surprise of her parents. Throughout her life, she has defended and helped children who are discriminated against and who are less fortunate.

During her studies in mathematics, sociology and anthropology, she was determined to do everything she could to change the conditions for at-risk and impoverished children.

This determination and dedication led to the co-founding of The Children for Peace ONLUS with Lamia Khashoggi in Italy.

Traveling to areas in Ethiopia, Mali, Israel, refugee camps in the Palestinian territories and the border of Syria and Jordan, she personally oversees the charity’s projects. Beginning early in 2013, The Children for Peace provides funds for education to the Waunana tribe in Colombia who are on the verge of extinction, a project dear to her heart.

This remarkable woman fights for peace and non-violence through education on behalf of children and is fearless and relentless in her pursuit of providing education and assistance for affected children. She has been called “The Children’s Champion.”
